Privacy notice
PropertyDealSource Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through this platform. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email address, password hash (Argon2id; we never store the password itself) and subscription tier.
- Usage data — saved searches, saved deals, alert rules and pipeline entries you create.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and request logs, retained for security and rate limiting.
- Payment data — handled by our payment providers. Card numbers never reach our servers.
The tax calculator
If you use the public tax calculator without an account, nothing you type is stored. The figures are computed and returned; they are not written to a database, not logged, and not associated with you. It is arithmetic with a user interface.
Property data
Property records come from publicly available sources and public registers. Where a record relates to an identifiable person — a company director, for example — we process it on the basis of legitimate interests in providing property market analysis, and only where the source publishes it for that kind of use.
Why we process it
- To provide the service you have asked for (contract).
- To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
- To meet our accounting, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations (legal obligation).
- To send marketing, where you have opted in (consent, withdrawable at any time).
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with processors who run the service on our behalf — hosting, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring — under contracts that bind them to our instructions.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is open and for six years afterwards, which is the period our tax and accounting obligations require. Request logs are kept for ninety days. Anonymous calculator inputs are never retained at all.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask for it in a portable format. Email privacy@propertydealsource.com. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
